Your new place has a pre-existing home security system
Many times after you close on a new house, you’ll find that the old owners used a security system. All the devices work, are installed in the right places, and are ready to go. In this case, all you might have to do is to call and start a new contract. A Vivint installer will still show up to make sure there are no compatibility issues, and they might offer options on upgrades. It's a fast trip, and you can get your alarm monitoring set up without having a bill for any new devices -- unless you make additions.
The old owners can transfer an existing Vivint contract to your family for a small set-up fee to make the process a snap. If the outgoing residents are downsizing to an apartment complex or smaller home, turning over the home security contract may be a part of the sale.
You are looking to move and take your existing components with you
You might need to bring your old Vivint system with you to your new house when you move. That’s fairly easy to accomplish, as many smart devices are portable. You can take down each alarm or camera yourself or contact a professional expert to take down the system. Then our installers will put in the same devices -- and any new devices you need -- in the new house. And your home security contract will keep the same.
